Natural Fit Therapy Events

“Floor Confidence” & “Falls Training” Programs (2-for-1 Special)

Designed to give adults of any age the strength and confidence to get on and off the floor with ease, and teach them how to fall without getting injured.

Through October, join either of Natural Fit Therapy’s 6-week programs with a friend and split the cost ($175 per session for 6 sessions).

1. Pecan Street Spring Arts Festival (Free) – May 6 – 7

The Pecan Street Festival is a free two-day arts festival held twice yearly in downtown Austin’s Sixth Street Historic District. Taking place the first Saturday & Sunday in May and the last Saturday & Sunday in September, the juried festival attracts hundreds of local and national artisans offering original handcrafted creations in a variety of mediums, from metal, wood, fiber, clay, leather, glass and stone to repurposed materials of all kinds.

Like Austin itself, Pecan Street Festival attendees are diverse. Some come to buy art, others come for the food or the music, but they all come to take part in a tradition that is 100% Austin and has been known for more than three decades as a great way to spend a weekend. The festival has been managed by Special Events Live since 2006.

2. Cedar Park Kite Festival (Free) – May 7

 

Join your neighbors for an afternoon of sun, smiles, and colorful KITES at this free, family and pet-friendly event!

There will be food trucks, music, performances, and more!

3. Mother’s day concert – Austin Symphonic Band (Free) – May 14

Celebrate a beautiful day with Mom by taking her to a free concert in her honor at the State Capitol. The Austin Symphonic Band will perform great music, including marches, movie scores and original band compositions, that you and Mom are sure to enjoy!

4. Hot Luck food and music festival – May 25 – May 28 

Hot Luck Fest: Whole Enchilada Early Bird Pass in Austin at
 

Don’t miss out on the Hot Luck Festival. An event filled with fire, food, and music. This four-day event is filled with great performers, renowned chefs, and food from popular restaurants. You can buy tickets to see some of your favorite bands (prices start at $15 for each band), or you can purchase whole-day passes that give you access to the full musical lineup for the day of your choosing.

Location: The festival consists of a wide variety of events and surprises that will be held at various locations centered around downtown Austin and throughout the city. Hot Luck also pops up in various cities year-round.

5. Austin in one fell swoop aboard The Lone Star cruiser on Lady Bird Lake – May


See Austin in one fell swoop aboard The Lone Star cruiser on Lady Bird Lake. These guided boat cruises are only $10 for the 60+ crowd and are every bit as educational as they are fun.

Check out Lone Star Riverboat for additional information on sunset bat watching tours, romantic moonlight tours, and other fun explorations. Cruisers are encouraged to bring their own beverages, although soft drinks are available for purchase.

6. BLUE GENIE ART BAZAAR’S MAY MARKET (Free) – APR 29 – MAY 28 (Friday through Sunday)

The creators of the award-winning Blue Genie Art Bazaar are bringing back their spring arts shopping event, May Market. The Third Annual May Market will run every weekend, Friday through Sunday, starting Friday, April 28 through Memorial Day, May 29

You can view and experience the work of more than 100 regional artisans and craftspeople under one roof. The show is a one-stop-shop for locally-made, one-of-a-kind gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations, anniversaries, weddings and more. Drinks and snacks will be sold at the Blue Genie bar and concession area. Raffles, samplings and demos will be offered throughout the show.

7.Texas Military Forces Museum

SoCo Village had a great time here over the summer, thanks to the guidance of some of our resident veterans. History fans will revel in the relics and stories of the Texas Army, Texas Air National Guard, and Texas State Guard.

Admission to the Texas Military Forces Museum is free, and you can find it in Building Six on the Camp Mabry campus in west Austin.
