Tuesday, May 24th 5-7PM – Happy Hour + Back Pain and Sciatica Workshop (FREE)

Come mingle with Keep Austin Active friends at the Natural Fit Therapy clinic in NW Austin, followed by an informational workshop teaching effective treatment strategies for back pain and sciatica. Come for one or both events. Adult beverages and appetizers provided. Registration required to attend the workshop and is limited to 15 attendees.

All Month Long – Strawberry Picking at Sweet Berry Farm (FREE)

Visit the strawberry patch! No admission or parking fee, simply pay for the fruit you pick or the activities you wish to participate in. The closer you can get to ‘opening’ hour – the fewer the folks and the largest supply of ripe berries.  Thursday is the best day of the week to come (we are closed Wednesday). GPS can have trouble finding the farm, so make sure you follow their directions.

All Month Long – Tuesday Twilights 5 – 8 PM at Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center ($15; $10 for 65+)

All Month Long – Tuesday Bike Night at Circuit of the Americas ($10 Adult registration)

Clip in and navigate The Circuit at Bike Night. The weekly event lets riders cruise COTA’s famed stars and stripes in a stress-free environment without the worry of city traffic while offering fantastic sunset views of COTA’s signature Observation Deck and Austin skyline. After the ride concludes, cyclists can replenish and recharge with an ice-cold drink, mouth-watering refreshments and great conversations and camaraderie with fellow riders.

All Month Long – Wednesday Outdoor Stay Strong Fitness Workout with Aging is Cool (FREE)

Your favorite Aging is Cool instructor, Damien Temperley, is back with weekly live classes at the beautiful Waterloo Greenway. Get your body moving in a gorgeous outdoor setting. Standing and seated options available.  Grab a coffee from the nearby food trucks after the session and spend some time with old or new friends. Sunday, May 1st 12-5PM – Yellow Bike Project 25th Birthday Celebration (FREE)

For 25 years the Yellow Bike Project has served the Austin community as a bicycle recycling facility, providing free or affordable refurbished bikes and an educational space. Come eat cake, take a bike ride, and see the Bike Zoo with a bike-butterfly and bike-owl. See the website for complete program.

Friday, May 6th – ATX Paddle to Remember for Alzheimers ($30 general admission)

Bring yourself, group or team to paddle Lady Bird Lake to benefit Alzheimer’s research and caregiver support. Registration by May 5 gets an all day kayak or SUP rental at Rowing Dock, and an optional lake tour. There will be music, nature, and paddling downtown. Every registration gets entered into a raffle for prizes from our sponsors like Yeti, REI, Amy’s and Fresas. Registration link below. Hours are 9am to 7pm and most activity will be 3pm to 7pm.

Saturday, May 7th – Leander Kite Festival (FREE)

Join Leander Parks & Recreation every spring for the city’s annual Kite Festival at Devine Lake Park. Activities include kite events, food and craft vendors, and lots of high-flying fun!

One of the largest, and longest-running, arts/crafts and music festivals in the nation celebrates its 47th year! The association donates its proceeds towards the preservation of historic 6th Street (previously named Pecan Street) located in Downtown Austin.

Saturday, May 21st 7-9PM – Family Dance Glow Crazy! ($10-15 admission)

Join us for a family dance at the Cedar Park Recreation Center. The theme is “Glow Crazy!” The dance will be held in the gymnasium. There will be music, dancing, photos ops, black light decorations, and more!

Saturday, May 27th at 7:30PM – Music in the Park featuring American Dreamer (FREE)

Music In The Park is an annual outdoor concert series that showcases a variety of live bands on select Friday nights May to September. There’s no admission charge, so bring lawn chairs, pfurry friends, blankets, picnic baskets, friends and neighbors for a free evening of music, entertainment and relaxation. Alcohol is allowed, but please do not bring glass containers.
